RFID logistics

RFID for parcel consolidation and dispatch, on your own system

Orixya RFID Logistics is an RFID tracking layer for parcel consolidation and shipment dispatch that connects to a logistics company’s existing system. It tags cartons and parcels, tracks them through consolidation, checks every dispatch against the order or pick list, and pushes each event back into your software. You keep the system you already run and add RFID accuracy on top of it.

  • Tag cartons and parcels once, track them everywhere
  • Dispatch checked against the order or pick list
  • Connected through REST, webhooks and file exchange

How does Orixya integrate with a logistics operator’s own system?

A cross-border parcel-consolidation operator kept its own business system. Orixya added RFID tagging and handheld dispatch checks, pulling orders from the operator’s system and pushing RFID events back into it. The dispatch flow is proven on real handhelds and rollout is in progress.

This is the integration pattern in its simplest form: the operator’s system stays the record of orders and customers, and Orixya becomes the RFID layer that proves what was tagged, packed and dispatched.

What does the RFID layer do?

It gives every carton and parcel an RFID tag and records each move: received, consolidated, loaded and dispatched. Operators scan with handhelds or pass goods through fixed readers and RFID gates, and Orixya keeps a tag ledger of what is where, what belongs together and what has left the building.

How does RFID dispatch checking work?

An order or pick list arrives from your system. Operators scan the parcels for that dispatch with a handheld, or the goods pass through a gate at the dock door. Orixya matches every tag against the list, flags anything missing or extra, and confirms the dispatch only when the load matches.

  1. 1Your system sends the order or pick list.
  2. 2Parcels are scanned with a handheld or read at a dock-door gate.
  3. 3Each tag is matched against the expected parcels.
  4. 4Missing or unexpected parcels are flagged before loading.
  5. 5The confirmed dispatch event is pushed back to your system.

How does it connect to our existing software?

Through a connector layer, not a replacement. Orders and pick lists come in through REST pull or push, file imports or webhooks, and RFID events go back out the same way. The mapping is scoped per project, so your current business system and customer portal receive accurate, time-stamped events.

  • REST API pull and push
  • Signed webhooks for RFID events
  • File imports for manifests and order lists

Which RFID hardware does it use?

UHF RFID handheld readers for scanning, commissioning and locating parcels, fixed readers and RFID gates at dock doors for hands-free capture, and RFID label printer-encoders for tagging. Orixya works with standard UHF RAIN RFID hardware and we help you choose. All readers feed one real-time pipeline and one tag ledger.

Frequently asked questions

Do we need to replace our current logistics software?

No. Orixya sits alongside your current system and exchanges data through an API, webhooks or file exchange. It adds RFID tracking; it does not replace your order management or billing.

Can fixed readers and gates be used instead of handhelds?

Yes, both work. Handhelds suit commissioning, spot checks and locating a parcel; fixed readers and gates suit high-traffic doors where goods pass through without a manual scan.

How long does an integration take?

It depends on how your system exposes orders and accepts events. We scope it with you after a discovery session, usually starting with one flow such as dispatch before extending to others.
