Each tag gets a printed face and a unique identifier written into its chip, linked to the item’s product and variant, whether your product codes live in your own system or in Orixya. How does RFID label printing and encoding work?
You choose the items to tag, for example an incoming delivery across several products and variants. Orixya allocates a unique identifier for each piece and sends the job to the RFID printer, which prints the label and writes the identifier to the chip. The tag is then attached and the item is ready to be received, counted and sold.

Can tags use product codes from my own system?
Yes. With the integration route, Orixya maps each tag’s unique identifier to the product and variant codes in your ERP or POS, so every tag read can be reported back in your system’s own terms. With the Orixya retail system, tags link directly to Orixya’s products and variants.
What is written into each tag?
Each tag holds a unique identifier that Orixya links to one specific item and its product variant. Because the identifier is unique per piece, Orixya can tell two otherwise identical items apart, which is what makes tag-accurate counts, Locate and misplaced-item detection possible.
How do I tag stock that is already in the store?
For stock already on the shelves, use tag commissioning on the handheld reader: pick the product variant, read a blank tag and Orixya writes and links its unique identifier. Many stores print new tags for incoming deliveries and commission existing stock once during onboarding.
Should I print tags myself or have them pre-encoded?
If you receive deliveries every week, an RFID printer in your stock room lets you tag goods as they arrive. If volumes are small or seasonal, Orixya can pre-encode tags for you so they arrive ready to attach. Both routes produce the same kind of uniquely identified tags in the same system.

What happens if a tag is damaged?
Print or commission a replacement tag for the same item. Orixya links the new tag to the item and keeps the history.

No. You can start with pre-encoded tags from Orixya and commission existing stock with the handheld, then add a printer later.
