Orixya works with standard UHF RAIN RFID hardware in three roles: UHF handheld readers for counts, locate, receiving and checkout; fixed readers and RFID gates at doors, receiving bays and dispatch points for hands-free reads; and RFID label printer-encoders for tagging. What does the Orixya handheld app do?
The Orixya Android app runs on UHF RFID handheld readers. Staff use it to count stock, find a specific item with Geiger-counter Locate, receive deliveries, dispatch orders, commission tags on existing stock and read items at checkout. Every read syncs to the Orixya server in real time and, with the integration route, onward to your system.

How do fixed readers and RFID gates work with Orixya?
Fixed UHF readers and RFID gates are mounted at doors, receiving bays and dispatch points and read tags as items pass, with no one holding a scanner. Each read reports the reader, the antenna and the direction of movement, so Orixya can record goods coming in and going out through the same pipeline the handhelds use.
Which reader should I use for which job?
Handhelds suit jobs that move around the site, such as counts, locating items and checkout. Fixed readers and gates suit jobs at a fixed point where goods pass anyway, such as a receiving bay, a stock-room door or a dispatch table. Many sites start with one handheld and add fixed points later.

How are tags printed and encoded?
Orixya works with RFID label printer-encoders that print the human-readable label and write a unique identifier into the tag’s chip in the same pass. Each tag or label is linked to its product and variant before it is attached, so it can be read, counted and sold straight away.

Do I have to buy a specific brand of reader?
Orixya works with standard UHF RAIN RFID hardware. We recommend and configure the handhelds, fixed readers and printers that suit your site as part of setup.
Can I start with one handheld?
Yes. A single store usually starts with one handheld reader and adds more handhelds, fixed readers or gates as volumes grow.
Can I use readers I already own?
Possibly. Tell us the models during the demo and we will check whether they fit the Orixya pipeline.
